On this Loch Ness, Glencoe and Inverness Tour, we want to show you the Scottish Highlands in a truly special way. This experience combines the highlights of our traditional Glencoe Valley route with our alternative itinerary through Inverness and Urquhart Castle. Thanks to this unique blend, we are the only company that offers you a journey that includes a stop in the stunning Glencoe Valley, a cruise on Loch Ness from Fort Augustus, and a visit to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands.

*The map shows the tour itinerary, but it may change depending on the date or season; please read the itinerary and route carefully.

190 High Street (Royal Mile, Edinburgh)
Begin your adventure to Loch Ness right from the heart of Edinburgh! We’ll meet at 190 High Street and from there, head north towards the Highlands. Along the way, we’ll pass near Stirling, where you can admire the majestic silhouette of Stirling Castle and the Monument to William Wallace, Scotland’s national hero, from the bus window.

Immerse yourself in Scotland’s natural beauty as we cross the Trossachs National Park. After leaving the charming town of Callander, we’ll make a short stop at Kilmahog, the gateway to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. And don’t forget to keep an eye out—this is often the best chance to spot the famous Highland cows, with their long horns and shaggy coats!

Kilmahog & Rannoch Moor
From here, the scenery becomes more dramatic as we travel through the wilderness of Rannoch Moor: a landscape of mountains, lochs, and valleys shaped by centuries of history and nature.

Glencoe Valley & Three Sisters Viewpoint
One of Scotland’s most iconic landscapes awaits: Glencoe. Known both for its breathtaking beauty and its turbulent clan history, this valley is a highlight of the Highlands. At the Three Sisters viewpoint, you’ll be able to admire its famous mountain peaks and, if you’re a film fan, recognize locations from Harry Potter and James Bond.

Commando Memorial (optional stop)
If our schedule allows, we’ll also stop at the Commando Memorial, dedicated to the World War II elite troops who trained in the Highlands. On clear days, the views of Ben Nevis—the tallest mountain in Britain—are unforgettable.

Fort Augustus & Loch Ness Cruise
Our next stop is Fort Augustus, where the Caledonian Canal meets Loch Ness. Here you’ll have free time to explore, grab a bite, or join the optional 1-hour Loch Ness cruise for a chance to search for the legendary Nessie.

Cruise cost (special prices for LochNessBus.com customers):

  • Adults: £21.00
  • Over 60s: £19.00
  • Children (4–15): £14.00
  • Under 4: Free

Inverness
The journey continues to Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Stroll through its charming Old Town, visit the impressive Gothic cathedral, or enjoy a peaceful riverside walk along the Ness, surrounded by colorful houses and green landscapes.

Pitlochry
On our way back south, we’ll make a final stop in Pitlochry, a welcoming Victorian town. Take time to explore its streets, check out its traditional shops, or recharge with a coffee—or even try the local whisky ice cream!

Return to Edinburgh
The drive back offers another highlight: crossing the Forth, where you’ll see the iconic 19th-century Forth Rail Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Finally, back in Edinburgh, your guide will give you tips and recommendations to make the most of the rest of your stay in Scotland’s capital.
